AUDITION NOTICE

Please note: Actors of all ages are encouraged to audition for the roles listed below.

Sandy Dombrowski — New in town, wholesome, pure, kind, and innocent girl. She's a goody-goody and doesn't smoke or drink, and is teased about it by the Pink Ladies. Falls in love with Danny Zuko over the holidays. (Soprano) Audition song: Raining on Prom Night

Danny Zuko — Handsome, cocky leader of the Burger Palace Boys. A greaser who is cool. Falls in love with Sandy Dombrowski over the holidays. (Tenor or Baritone) Audition song: Alone at a Drive Inn Movie

Betty Rizzo — Tough & sarcastic leader of the Pink Ladies gang. Doesn't like to hang out with Sandy because she's not tough enough. Smokes and drinks and doesn't care what others think of her. (Mezzo-soprano) Audition song: There are Worse Things I Could Do

Frenchy — dropped out of high school to enter Beauty School. Fun-loving and foolish. A little light headed and in her own world and dumb. Cares a lot about her appearance. A member of the Pink Ladies gang. Audition song: Alma Mater

Marty — Most attractive member of the Pink Ladies gang. A little slow and she likes older guys. (Mezzo-soprano) Audition song: Alma Mater

Teen Angel — Guardian Angel from above that tries to guide Frenchy when she drops out of beauty school. (Tenor or Baritone) Audition song: Alma Mater

Vince Fontaine — An egotistical, slimy radio disk jockey trying to relive his teenage years. Audition song: Alma Mater

Doody — The youngest member of the Burger Palace Boys. Generally foolish, and gullible. (Tenor) Audition song: Those Magic Changes

Jan — Funny, loud, overweight and awkward member of the Pink Ladies. (Mezzo-soprano) Audition song: Raining on Prom Night

Kenickie — A tough and rude member of the Burger Palace Boys. (Baritone) Audition song: Greased Lightning

Roger — An overweight and jolly prankster member of the Burger Palace Boys; loves Jan. (Tenor) Audition song: Mooning

Cha-Cha - Real name is Charlotte DeGrigorio. Cha- Cha is unattractive, loud, and obnoxious. Apparently the best dancer at St. Bernadette's. Wins the dancing competition with Danny. (Alto) Audition song: Raining on Prom Night

Eugene Florczyk — A silly, pompous but gullible nerd. Audition song: Alma Mater

Johnny Casino — All-American, rock-star student at Rydell High. (Baritone) Audition song: Greased Lightning

Miss Lynch — A no-nonsense, serious, loud, English teacher. Audition song: Alma Mater

Patty Simcox — A pretty, peppy, cheerleader. Loud and over excited. A bit of a pain and unpopular with the Pink Ladies. Nominated for Student council. Audition song: Alma Mater

Sonny LaTierri — The funny, Italian-American. "Wise Guy" of the Burger Palace Boys. Audition song: Alma Mater

Chorus: A chorus may be added.

Each auditionee should be familiar with the music from the show as they may be asked to sing something else.

Additional Information: Please be prepared to list all potential rehearsal conflicts on the audition form. Selected readings of the play will be used for the auditions. It is highly advised that auditionees be familiar with the entire play. Perusal copies may be borrowed for a limited time. Please be aware that limited copies are available. Audition songs for each character will be listed soon. There will be a dance audition. Please be prepared by wearing comfortable clothes and shoes appropriate for dance.
