Please note: Actors of all ages are encouraged to auditions for the roles listed below.

NOTE: All those auditioning for the ensemble, the Herald, the Stepsisters, Cinderella and the Prince please come prepared to dance at 7:00pm; singing begins at 8:00pm.

NOTE: All those auditioning for the King, the Queen, the Godmother, the Stepmother come prepared to sing at 8:00pm. (no dance audition for these roles)

Cinderella: (age range: 18-22) Pretty and plucky. Must be able to sing, dance and act. Audition song: In My Own Little Corner (pick up to 92-106), Do I Love You Because You’re Beautiful (meas 57-72)

King: (age range: 40 plus) Gruff and likeable. Rotund or must be willing to appear rotund. Audition song: Boys and Girls (meas 42-57)

Queen: (age range: 40 plus) Steady, strong and smart (hey! She puts up with the king, right?) Audition song: : Boys and Girls (meas 42-57)

Stepmother: (age range: 40 plus) Sharp, angular, not nice. Character actress. Audition song: A Lovely Night (pick up to 47-62)

Portia: (age range: 20’s) Not very bright. Character actress. Must be able to sing, dance and act. Audition Song: Stepsister’s Lament (pick up to 51-61), A Lovely Night (pick up to 47-62)

Joy: (age range: 20’s) She is joyless. Character actress. Must be able to sing, dance and act. Audition song: Stepsister’s Lament (pick up to 51-61), A Lovely Night (pick up to 47-62)

Prince Charming: (age range: 20’s) Handsome but not a cardboard cut out. Must be able to sing, dance and act. Audition song: Ten Minutes Ago (pick up to 50-64), Do I Love You Because You’re Beautiful (meas 65-72)

The Godmother: (age range: 40 plus) Practical and magical. Audition song: Impossible (pick up to 29-50)

The Herald: (age range: 30’s) Featured ensemble role. Must be able to sing, dance and act. Audition song: The Prince is Giving a Ball (pick up to 14-29 high G)

Male Ensemble: (age range: 20’s to 50’s) Tenors and basses. Must be able to sing, dance and act. The Cook, The Steward, etc. will be cast from the ensemble. Audition song: Ten Minutes Ago (pick up to 18-33, baritones/basses), The Prince is Giving a Ball (pick up to 14-29, tenors)

Female Ensemble: (age range: 20’s to 50’s) Altos and sopranos. Must be able to sing, dance and act. Pointe work is a plus but not a requirement. Audition song: Ten Minutes Ago (pick up to 18-33)

2 Children, one boy, one girl, age 10. Must be able to sing, dance and act. Audition song: Ten Minutes Ago (pick up to 18-33)

Additional Information: Please be prepared to list all potential rehearsal conflicts on the audition form. Selected readings of the play will be used for the auditions. It is highly advised that auditionees be familiar with the entire play. There will be a dance audition for everyone auditioning for a dancing role. Please wear comfortable clothing that allows you to move.
