Winter 2022: THE GAME’S AFOOT, OR: HOLMES FOR THE HOLIDAYS (Nov. 11-13, 18-20, 25-27, 2022)
When famed Sherlock Holmes actor William Gillette hosts a lavish Christmas party at his upscale abode, the festivities quickly turn deadly when one of the guests turns up dead. It is up to Gillette to don his renowned persona and find out- for real this time- whodunnit!
Winter 2023: SISTER ACT (Jan. 13-15, 20-22, 27-29, 2023)
After Philadelphia night club singer Delores Van Cartier witnesses a mob hit carried out by her boyfriend, she’s sent to hide away in a convent. While waiting to testify, she decides to use her expertise to whip the convent’s rather sorry choir of quirky nuns into shape. Come see this classic of 90s cinema transplanted to a high-energy musical that will leave you humming to high heaven!
Spring 2023: BECKY’S NEW CAR (Mar. 10-12, 17-19, 24-26, 2023)
When car saleswoman Becky Foster has a chance encounter with a hapless rich widower, her whole life turns upside down as she stumbles her way into an affair and entire double life. This contemporary masterpiece brings us a hilarious and thoughtful tale of love, loss, and the frantic pursuit of something approximating happiness. To say anything more would be to spoil the fun!
Early Summer 2023: LA CAGE AUX FOLLES (May 5-7, 12-14, 19-21, 2023)
The Players Guild is proud to close out our season with this beloved tale of love, acceptance, and family. This French-set classic tells the story of night club owner Georges, his husband/star performer Albin, and their son Jean-Michel who’s bringing his fiancee home to meet the parents… along with her uptight and moralistic parents. Come see the zany plot unfold in this joyous piece that reminds us all that “life’s not worth a damn till you can say ‘hey world, I am what I am!'”
