On July 20, 2016, 46 years after man landed on the moon, The Players Guild of Dearborn is getting a new front porch.
The steps leading down to the street, dubbed by some The Steps of Doom, will be removed. Access to the front doors will be via a ramp from the East parking lot. The ramp will be handicapped accessible and will end at the front doors and be level with the lobby floor. No more dangerous first step out the doors. In the photos, you can see a temporary gravel and earth ramp that allowed Greco Construction Company’s equipment to get onto the porch to remove the marquee and stairs.
There is a view of the stairs. The front doors are being repaired and restained.
