If you’re looking for a way to participate in The Players Guild of Dearborn renovation activities, please consider our Sponsor-A-Seat campaign. The new seats and their installation will cost about $300. So we are asking members, patrons, season ticket holders, friends, Dearborn businesses, Dearborn organizations, and our families to Sponsor-A-Seat with a $300 donation to the cause. If you Sponsor-A-Seat you will have the opportunity to tell us what to write on a permanent nameplate that will be attached to the seat. There will be, of course, a limitation on the number of characters, but, you should be able to recognize a parent, or someone “in memory of,” or a business, or an organization, or even yourself.

The attached picture shows what the seats will look like. You can see the nametag on the seatback. They are being manufactured by the Irwin Seating Company out of Grand Rapids, Michigan. (BUY MICHIGAN) Irwin Seating Company is the world’s leading manufacturer of public seating for movie theatres, auditoriums, arenas, performing arts centers, and convention centers. From Dewan Filharmonik in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia to Carnegie Hall in New York, from the Minsk Arena in Minsk, Belarus to Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, to the Players Guild of Dearborn, their chairs, bleachers and telescopic platforms are installed in thousands of venues all over the world.

A bunch of other renovations are taking place. The fire suppression system has already been installed in the auditorium. Insulation has been added to the walls of the auditorium and the underside of the attic roof. New carpeting will be installed throughout the building. Much of the building’s interior will be repainted in fresh, new color schemes. The Clubroom Floor is being replaced and helical piers are being installed to prevent further sinking. The handicapped ramp from the east parking lot is being rebuilt. The little swale in the lobby will be modified. A new lighting grid will replace the old light bar. The lobby is getting redone.

There’s a lot going on. The Guild is in the process of borrowing $250,000 to finance this renovation. Your donations will brighten the financial picture. For further information about how to help, email webmaster@playersguildofdearborn.
